The moon scatters every shimmer on top your ocean blue,
I’d dance beneath each ripple should it let me sink to you.

Stars claim place, woven stories in the sky,
Stories of your claim to the worship in my eyes.

The sand cascades at the lure of the waves,
An allusion to my surrender upon the utter of your name

And as though replaying every stage I’ve wanted more
The ends of ocean brush the beginnings of shore

So if the birds say the prayer
And the stars hold the faith,
If the moon shines below poems of sun-ray

If the breeze makes love
And the sand makes way
If the ocean floods through every valve and every vein

I pray it’s spell is dimmed when the sunshine blooms
I pray it fills my chest until there’s no more gloom

For if it paints me better than your nighttime hues,
Maybe then I may stop looking for you
