Pushing up on the shore,

He stares into the abyss.

Distant in the night,

Eclipsed by the rising moon,

Reflecting on the sea–

Dangerous waves,

Powerful lightning

Flashing and quaking

Off in the distance.

A weak breeze tussles his hair,

But his brown eyes–

Eyes of the earth and sky–

They drink in the darkness,

Clouded by the grayness of the world.

He swears at the monsters–

Flapping wings,

Screeching teeth–

Dangerous battles rage above and beyond

And he’s a victim to them all.
